Platoon of the Future

Thierry Mugler played on a futuristic theme for the Menswear F/W 2012 Collection for Paris Fashion Week...

Best known as Lady Gaga's stylist, the label's creative director, Nicola Formichetti took 'formal, military dress uniforms' as his starting point to explore the idea of male heroes, almost 'superhuman' in their proportions. Despite the theatrics, the show was almost restrained for such an avant-garde label. The collection includes sharp-cut suits in deep red, blue, green or black, that paired tapered pants with cropped jackets, overcoats and military-inspired capes. The clean-cut suits were layered up and given a high shine finish that only added to the show's overall space-inspired look.
