Berlin to Budapest: Part 2

And so my Adventure continued (If you haven't read part 1, click here)...

Vienna:

After Visiting Eerie and Mysterious Kutná Hora, we finally arrived in Beautiful Vienna. We didn't have much time in Vienna, just 1 full day (and an evening), which doesn't nearly begin to scratch the surface of this Gorgeous City! We started off with a really delicious Viennese Dinner and went off to the Prater Amusement Park, which was an Epic way to start off the first evening! 

Day 2 was spent doing as much as humanly possible; visiting sites like the Burggarten, Staatsoper (which is more beautiful inside, than outside), St. Stephan's Cathedral, The Hofburg Palace, Schönbrunn Palace and of course a stop at the Sacher Hotel for an Exquisite piece of Sachertorte. For Lunch we had a Very Tantalising, Massive Schnitzel (larger than the size of my head — we even measured it) at Figlmüller.

I need to come back to Vienna to explore a little more and visit the Museum's that have Klimt's Work Exhibited ... and possibly stop for another slice of Sachertorte at the Sacher Hotel on the way!

Bratislava:

Travelling to Budapest, we made a quick stop in Bratislava for some lunch and to walk about the city, finding numerous Quirky Statues. I walked up to the Bratislava Castle, and although the Castle wasn't as beautiful as what I had seen in the previous European states, the View from it was really worth the climb!

Budapest:

Finally we arrived in Budapest, this city also has Fairytale-like charm (although, I must be honest, I do prefer Prague). If you are ever there, try take a cruise on the Danube River, this really gives you a different perspective of the city, maybe have a dinner/lunch cruise and enjoy the Hungarian Cuisine as well. I highly recommend their Goulash Soup, it is a really hearty meal and even more delicious in chilly weather (which describes the weather that we had there). If you are a Wine-drinker, Tokaji Wine is a must-try! Tokaji refers to a region where the grapes are produced. This wine is rather sweet and I really enjoyed it.

The coolest part of the tour was seeing the mummified Right Hand of St Stephen at the St Stephan's Church.

Other things that I loved about the city were the roof tiles on most of the buildings that are made from porcelain and arranged in various decorative patterns — definitely more fun than the roof tiles we have back in SA.

Finishing off the tour in Budapest, I was already planning where I will be doing a Contiki Trip next ... If you haven't done one, and are between the ages of 18-35 ... What are you waiting for? ;)
