Polish Up for 2012

A Bottle of Nail Polish is an affordable way to brighten your mood and add a ‘splash' of colour to your outfit. But what colour are in for 2012? ...

Here are the must-have nail colours for 2012:

Tangerine Tango:
Blame Pantone's 2012's color of the year Tangerine Tango  for all the bright orange nails you're going to be seeing this year.

Singing the Blues:
Shades of blue will be very popular this year — From Baby Blue, Turquoise, Cobalt and Navy  ... Your nails better start 'Singing the Blues'.

Fierce Fuchsia:
Hot Pink and Fierce Fuchsia replace light pink as the 'Go-To Girly Shade' of the season. Expect to see many versions of this shade from contrasting glitter to pearlescent undertones even bold opaques for an edgy finish that will add just the right amount of femininity.

Glamourously Glittered:
Glitter gets an update for 2012 with new shapes, colors, and sizes of sparkles. Celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann says "The glitter craze is continuing, but will be transforming into new variations — the latest versions are 3D holographics, but shiny shimmers still continue to rule".

Perfectly Pistachio:
Unlike last season, where we saw tons of green hues, 2012s will mostly be about Perfectly Pistachio. Look for polishes that have creamy undertones and lots of opacity — you want the color to really stand out on your nails.

Naughty Nudes:
Nude nails make their return this year however, the focus is on matching the polish to your skin tone. This gives an illusion of skin continuing and really lengthens your finger.

Pleasantly Pastel:
The latest 'dreamy shades' are actually quite chic and sophisticated. Try skipping the Cotton Candy Pinks (as the Fierce Fuchsia is taking over in the Pink Department) and think more along the lines of Pistachio Greens, Baby Blues, Creamy Corals, Lovely Lilacs and Butter Yellows.

So which Nail Polish Colours will you be trying out this year?

... I'm Q-rious to find out ...

  1. I love the nude shades. I have a few. But I also have a gorgeous dark blue from Essence and some pretty hot pinks. :)
